One of Australia's classic daytime trains, running between Melbourne and Adelaide across the western Victorian plains and the South Australian Mallee in a single day.

The Overland has linked Melbourne and Adelaide since 1887 and is one of the last great daytime intercity trains in the country. It crosses Victoria's western districts, the Grampians plains and the Murray, arriving the same day. Seating is in Red Premium (wider seats, meals and drinks at your seat) or Red Service, with a café car aboard.

It's a relaxed, scenic and good-value alternative to flying between the two cities, and connects with regional coach services at either end. Operated by Journey Beyond.
