What to expect
Moderate coastal walking on a mostly well-maintained track with rock scrambles and short steep sections. Terrain mixes sandy beaches, limestone paths and forest floor. Daily distances are manageable (15–20 km average). Southern Ocean weather can be cool and changeable; prepare for wind, occasional rain and sun exposure on open headland. The track is popular and never truly remote, though some sections are isolated from services.
Good to know
Walk April–May or September–October for mild weather and wildflower displays. The track is day-walk friendly but also supports backpacking with camping and hut options; check current accommodation, permits and fees with Parks and Wildlife Service WA. The track is one-way; arrange road shuttle or drop-off/pick-up transport between trailheads. Moderate fitness required. Water sources are limited; carry capacity and confirm locations. Leave no trace; camp only in designated areas.
