The XPT is NSW's long-distance workhorse, fanning out from Sydney to Melbourne, Brisbane and Dubbo with daytime seats and overnight sleeper berths.
NSW TrainLink's XPT (Express Passenger Train) runs the state's major intercity corridors: south to Albury and Melbourne, north along the coast to Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Casino and Brisbane, and west to Dubbo. Overnight services to Melbourne and Brisbane carry First Class sleeper cabins as well as First Class and Economy seating, with a buffet car aboard. A fleet of new regional trains is progressively replacing the XPT.
