A lovingly restored section of the original Ghan line, the Pichi Richi Railway runs vintage steam and heritage trains through the Pichi Richi Pass in the southern Flinders Ranges.

The Pichi Richi Railway preserves a surviving stretch of the original narrow-gauge Ghan route, running heritage steam and diesel services between Quorn and Port Augusta through the dramatic Pichi Richi Pass. Operated by volunteers, it runs on selected days from April to November and is one of the best-preserved working heritage railways in Australia — a perfect add-on to a Flinders Ranges trip.
